Design Story & Cultural Inspiration

This design is the brainchild of Sofia Mahfouz, a Syrian-Colombian artist raised in Bogotá and Damascus. With an upbringing steeped in Catholic mysticism and Eastern ornamentation, Sofia found inspiration in the dualities of fire and calm, wrath and worship.

She hand-sculpted every crucifix and golden bead using her molten resin-gilding method — a technique passed down from her grandmother, who once painted icons for monastery altars.

“This isn’t fashion,” Sofia shares. “It’s devotion made visible — the elegance of those who hold fire in their heart and peace in their eyes.”
