Design Story & Cultural Inspiration

In Middle Eastern symbolism, an eclipse is not just an astronomical event, but a moment of transformation and reverence. The swirling metallic curves were inspired by the lines of desert wind dunes at night, as well as traditional Bedouin goldwork patterns.

The piece was designed by Maysa, a Lebanese artist trained in both visual arts and Arabic calligraphy. Her inspiration came from a trip to Wadi Rum, Jordan, where the desert’s silence was broken only by the shimmer of stars and the occasional dune breeze. Maysa’s artistic approach treats each nail as a canvas of sacred geometry—harmonizing balance, beauty, and story. The central golden sun in this set is her tribute to the idea that women are “lunar fire — calm on the surface, burning underneath.”
