Design Story & Cultural Inspiration

Ocean Mirage was born from the artist’s fascination with the coastlines of Oman, where rugged cliffs meet serene waters. In Arab folklore, deep ocean stones are said to hold ancient memories — messages from the earth itself. This design is a tribute to that belief: each nail tells a silent story, with golden seams that feel almost like the planet’s veins.

Designed by Zahra, a Bahrain-based artisan who studied jewelry design before turning to nails, this set mirrors the beauty of hand-cut turquoise and opal. Zahra used real photos of mineral slices and fossilized shells to sketch the core layout. She says the gold lines were inspired by kintsugi, the Japanese art of healing cracks with gold—a concept that deeply resonated with her after she returned to design after recovering from an illness.

“Each line of gold is a path, not a scar,” she explains. “Ocean Mirage is not just about elegance — it’s about resilience and rebirth.”
